1. Scope

This policy explains how Wine Your Food collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We are subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and authentication data (via Firebase Authentication)
  • Age verification status, required to purchase alcohol
  • Delivery address and order history
  • Payment information, processed and stored by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number
  • Device and usage data, and error diagnostics collected via Sentry
  • Location, only when you share it to find nearby stores

3. How we use your information

We use your information to operate your account, process and fulfill orders, verify your age before alcohol purchases, calculate applicable sales tax, prevent fraud, and improve the Platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Who we share it with

We share order and delivery details with the Merchant fulfilling your order, payment details with Stripe, and de-identified diagnostic data with Sentry for error monitoring. We do not share your information with advertisers.

5. Data location and retention

Your data is currently hosted on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure in the United States (us-central1), with a planned migration to a Canadian region (Montréal) ahead of any significant Quebec launch. We retain account and order data for as long as your account is active and as required by Canadian tax and consumer-protection record-keeping obligations.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information from your account settings, or by contacting us at privacy@wineyourfood.com. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25, including the right to data portability.
